Thank you for applying to be a volunteer at the Aurum Project. We're glad you're here. Volunteers have an important role in our ongoing activities.The Volunteer Application has been developed to ensure that volunteers fully understand their role, rights and responsibilities.

As a volunteer you will have a three month trial period to ensure that you are happy with your activities and have the capability of meeting the requirements of the position. A review will be conducted 1 month and then 3 months after commencement date and thereafter annually by the volunteer coordinator or authorised representative.

Termination of Volunteering

Where possible, fourteen (14) days' notice of terminating your volunteering will be made by either party. If your volunteering is not terminated on the date of expiry, it shall be assumed to extend for another similar period of time.

Duties

The volunteer shall carry out the duties as outlined verbally or in the Position Description. Should the volunteer move to another volunteer position, a position description should be available. You will need to acquaint yourself with the organisations policies and procedures and work within these requirements and structure. You are required to abide by all our policies.

Reimbursement

Volunteers will be reimbursed for approved out-of-pocket expenses incurred during the course of their duties. Receipts should be kept and provided to the receptionist.

Hours of Volunteering

The normal hours of volunteering will be set out as per the roster prepared by the Volunteer Coordinator. If the volunteer is unable to work to any of the rostered hours he/she is requested to provide reasonable notice.

Insurance

The Aurum Project will provide Public Liability and Personal Accident Insurance cover

Supervision and Training

The volunteer coordinator will hold regular supervision sessions for volunteers if necessary. Volunteers may approach the volunteer coordinator at any time to discuss an issue. Orientation will be given to the volunteer prior to commencement of duties. Volunteers will receive training and ongoing support needed to successfully undertake their work.

Volunteer Manual

On commencement you will have access to "The Aurum Project Volunteer Manual".

All volunteers are required to have current general membership status as this means you will have full access to all articles, videos and policies about how The Aurum Project operates. This is essential in every volunteering opportunity but especially so if you are representing The Aurum Project on a stall or other public facing event.
