Eric Frederick William Powell (1895 – 1991), Phys B, MNCA England, PhD, NB, was a Nature Cure Practitioner and lay homeopath. Originally published in 1950, this book deals with complex homeopathy and polypharmacy.
The author proposes an underlying philosophy for using multiple homeopathic remedies at the same time (polypharmacy). He feels lack of time and difficulty in selecting a single remedy, makes it necessary to give more than one remedy….

WHILE several remedies may be indicated for one weak organ, or disease of an organ, it does not follow that all the remedies should be employed. Sometimes only one may be necessary, but usually several are called for. When thought advisable guiding hints have been given. Those who do not use radiesthesia should consult a good repertory.
Example: ACIDITY
Bismuth 30, N.P. 30, Spirea Ulm. 30, Berberis V. 30, Pimpinclla Sax. 30, Robin. 30. P. 24. or P. 43 for Acute Acidity.
Chewing a small piece of liquorice root before meals is helpful: also 15 min. doses of Pimpinella Sax. 0 in a little warm water after meals. (See also under Flatulence.)
