Rhus Tox has been traditionally used for sprains and strains to fibrous tissue, ligaments and joints, and rheumatic symptoms. Joints may be hot and swollen.

With musculoskeletal symptoms, the patient stiffens up with rest, is worse for first movement, and then better once they get going.

Rhus Tox may also be helpful for boils, nettle rash, cold sores, shingles, colds and coughs. It may help flu-like symptoms where there is also joint pain.

The tongue typically may have a triangular red tip.

Worse for cold, wet weather, before storm, night, getting chilled or wet after being hot, over exertion.

Better for heat, hot baths, movement.
