At The Aurum Project (AP), we are advancing homeopathy research in Australia and internationally with global collaborations — from workforce surveys to clinical-case reviews and community outreach. Our 2025 round-up highlights major milestones: published studies, successful conferences, and pivotal developments in research Pods. AP is helping to shape the future of homeopathy research in Australia and further afield.
How did we fund our research efforts in 2025? The major source of revenue came from our homeopathy and natural therapy Book Barn, alongside donations and membership revenue. Our book sales definitely help to fund The Aurum Project’s much-needed homeopathy research. Every purchase contributes to ongoing studies and supports efforts to better inform the public, health practitioners, and students in this field. Some further knowledge about our top selling books can be found here.

Work Force Survey
This is a 5 year project. One interesting fact from results reveals that our highly qualified and diverse community hold an average of 2.3 qualifications, with many practitioners holding more than one homeopathy qualification.
The Homeopathy Workforce Survey Pod (HWFS) is a group with Gabrielle Brodie, Sandra Venables and Celeste Salter. Their steady analysis of results from the 2024 pilot survey, along with Michelle Hookham, lead to 2 published articles:
Brodie, Gabrielle, Michelle Hookham, Celeste Salter, and Sandra Venables. ‘Lifeforce of the Australian homeopathic profession: the findings from the Homeopathy Workforce Survey (HWFS) pilot study’. Similia: Australian Journal of Homoeopathic Medicine 3, no.1 (2025): 21–32.
Brodie, Gabrielle, Michelle Hookham, Celeste Salter, and Sandra Venables. ‘Mapping the Terrain: Reflections from the Homeopathy Work Force Survey (HWFS) Pod. Harvesting the Fruit to Fuel Our Future’. Similia: Australian Journal of Homoeopathic Medicine 37, no.2 (2024): 30–35.

The 2025 survey has now closed and the initial analysis is already yielding powerful findings:
- Practitioner Estimate: We estimate approximately 675 homeopaths (or homeopathy students) are active in Australia in 2025
- We estimated this number based on the percentage of AROH homeopaths – we are assuming that the same percentage of non AROH homeopaths/students have responded.
- The Impact: This data is essential for our profession’s planning and growth.
- We are continuing to analyse the data and expect to share the full results with you in early 2026.
Stay tuned for the full report!
Conferences
Presenting at international industry conferences helps our research organisation to share findings, gain feedback, build collaborations, and stay connected with global developments that strengthen the impact of our work. It also strengthen our visibility—creating valuable opportunities to grow support for our ongoing research projects.
It takes a monumental effort to get our work to the conferences For this to happen we rely on the generosity of our volunteers. The Aurum Project’s presence at conferences are great achievements and have a massive impact. The efforts of the whole team do not go unnoticed.

Volunteers and Members

One of the major strengths of AP is the significant pool of enthusiastic and multi-skilled volunteers and members. They allow AP to carryout extensive quality research, publish research papers, and have a presence at several domestic and international conferences of great significance. This in turn, provides members with a comprehensive level of resources and support.
Volunteers also support the functioning of AP Book Barn, which is a significant source of income for The Aurum Project.
In order to ensure the continuity of our volunteers, AP goes to great lengths to reduce turnover of staff and volunteers.
Thanks
Our thanks go to everyone who has participated in The Aurum Project this year. From everyone in the Management Committee, researchers, presenters at conferences, Book Barn volunteers, Members at all levels, customers of the Book Barn, donors, those that share our social media posts, and everyone involved in the day to day running of things. We appreciate you all and look forward to doing more in 2026.
